Revisiting association, cause and effect in Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease has the power to exert an even larger health, social and economic crisis in decades to come than the current pandemic has done if scientists do not get a better understanding of its complex biology. Without accurate detail about complex pathways and interactions at cellular and molecular levels in neurons, R&D attempts to create better diagnosis and treatment options for the disease will continue to be hamstrung.

We took a more in-depth look into some of the theories that have been put forward over the past six decades to explain how Alzheimer’s disease is caused and why it progresses in the way that it does. Find more details in our white paper here.
