This week, we’re reminiscing on a big milestone in the recent history of Biophys Ltd last month when the MediWales-organised BioWales in London conference took place marking a return to in-person networking events following the Covid-19 pandemic.
On 9th March 2022 the annual BioWales in London conference was held to coincide with Wales in London Week, designed to act as a catalyst for collaborative partnerships between Wales and London.
Founded in 1992, working on behalf of the Welsh life science sector, MediWales are a not-for-profit limited company helping to create opportunities, partnerships, supporting global trade development, improving access to clinical expertise and engaging with the government to increase support for the sector, all on behalf of its members. Their mission is the advancement of human life science in Wales. Biophys are a long-standing member of MediWales and were given the opportunity to showcase the company at the annual conference.
Talking just before afternoon tea, Dr Michael Graz of Biophys introduced the Biophys team and took the audience on a whistle-stop tour of some of our most recent activities and successes. This included (to name just a few!):
- A look at the world map where Biophys are currently supporting projects globally
- Our areas of work in life sciences including:
- PERT- Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy
- LFT manufacture
- Antimicrobial resistance insights and data
- Diagnostics from breath
- Delivery of vaccines
- Science writing, including regular contributions to the Science in Parliament platform
Dr Graz of Biophys said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to showcase the company at this live networking event alongside other Welsh medtech, diagnostics, life sciences services companies and healthcare partners. It was gratifying and a huge pleasure to speak with several fascinating colleagues afterwards over a cup of coffee. Thank you to MediWales and their event partners Chambers Wales South East, Southwest and Mid and Blake Morgan LLP for making this possible. As usual, this was a welcoming and well-organised event and we left buzzing, positively energised and looking forward to the next live networking event.”
